HandsI sat down the other night in the dark and quiet Then I noticed my hands and studied them They were covered in dirt and grease Finger nails unkept, they were rough, cut, torn, scratched and rugged Large with long slender fingers and weren't much to look at But they are used to help me make my living Use to cook my food and cleanse my body They were used to play the guitar when I sung my sister to sleep in her troubled times Used to love my woman then catch my tears when she left They will hold my ring to show my heart is shared with another To hold my child when their born and to tenHands
